Springfield Ballet Company Announces Auditions on Sept. 20 for 35th annual production of
The Nutcracker

Springfield, IL - Auditions for Springfield Ballet Company's 35th annual production of The Nutcracker will be Sunday, Sept. 20 at the Hoogland Center for the Arts, 420 S. Sixth Street in downtown Springfield.
Audition times are as follows: boys seven years old and up at 11:30 a.m., girls eight to 10 years old at noon, and girls 11 years old and up at 1:30 p.m. Dancers should arrive 30 minutes early to register. There is an audition fee of $20 for girls and $5 for boys, payable in cash or check made out to the Springfield Ballet Company.
Females should have their hair secured in a tight bun and must wear a black leotard, pink tights and pink ballet shoes and/or pointe shoes. Males should wear black pants, a white T-shirt and black ballet or jazz shoes.
Performances will be held at Sangamon Auditorium at 2 p.m. and 8 p.m. on Saturday, December 12, and at 2 p.m. on Sunday, December 13. The Nutcracker is sponsored by CEFCU.
The Springfield Ballet Company is a civic not-for-profit ballet company that has been entertaining and educating area audiences since 1975. The company offers three major productions at the University of Illinois at Springfield's Sangamon Auditorium each year, and also performs at festivals, schools and nursing homes throughout central Illinois.
